Furniture Puzzle

Now, this is a neat little puzzle. I found this in a magazine and had to give it a try. It is made out of one little block of oak measuring about 1 inch tall and wide by about 2 inches long. Can you believe that when it's all taken apart, there is nine pieces of furniture. There is 2 tall tables, 2 chairs, 2 end tables, 2 automons, and a coffee table. I really had a lot of fun making this.

The Oven Rack Helper

For as long as I can remember my mom has had an Oven Rack Helper. When I bought my own house I started looking for one of these for my kitchen. I could never find one. So, I came up with my own design. My mom's was just strait and boring. I started with oak that came from a fallen tree from my father-in-law's yard. He bought a little mill and gave me some of the wood. I plained it down to a good size, then came up with a shape that is comfortable in your hand. I then used a rub on varnish to give it an elagant, and beautiful look. I now make and sell quite a few of these. It is a vary nice addition to any kitchen. Please, take a look and let me know what you think.

New & Old Wood Creations

I decided to start my own business because I love to create objects out of wood. I often get ideas all on my own or out of magazines or just from living life and being out and about. I make things because they interest me, not because I need them. I decided to share with the world. I started with doing craft shows. With help from friends and family, mostly a sister in-law, thank you Allyson, I started selling on Etsy. I am having great fun managing my shop and trying all sorts of different marketing ideas. You can check out my shop at nowcreations.etsy.com. I have a problem though. I can't seem to stick to one thing. I started with some furniture, and I would see something, such as a puzzle box, in a magazine and I had to try to make it. Then I flipped through a carving mag. in a store and had to try my hand at that. In my shop I now have bird houses and shelve out of barn wood, new and primitive stools made of pine, tea light candle holders made of oak. A really neat one is called an Oven Rack Helper. My mom has always had one of these in her kitchen. You can't find these anywhere. They are used to pull out and push in the the racks in the oven. Really handy. In my own personal opinion they look much nicer sitting on the counter than an oven mitt or hot pad. I came up with my own design that is comfortable in your hand. I made these out of beautiful oak as well. I am having a blast. Thank you.
